Stunning start as Stroud smash six

Stroud B braved the weather and the traffic to face Ross on Wye. A bare 11 players lineup up to take on the challenge. With Bryn Nicol padded and dangerous in the goal with Ollie Roberts, Nigel Williams, Matt Watts and Bob Brewer taking up the rest of the defensive roles. A midfield mix of youth and experience in Sol Bowen, Alex Elder, Nick Hitchcroft and Zak Knight kept things tidy in the middle with Tim Norman and captain Chris Bargh taking care of the business end of the pitch.

Stroud started well, moving the ball around and keeping a good shape. A couple of early goals gave Stroud confidence, rocked slightly by conceding a goal after giving the ball away. Stroud found space in the middle of the pitch and moving forward as a unit kept the ball moving and finding opportunities to score.

In the second half Stroud again moved the ball well across the pitch and every player worked hard resulting in more goals improving their position. Despite conceding 2 goals from two very effective short corner strikes, Stroud came away winning 6 3 a hat trick from Tim Norman and goals from Alex Elder, Chris Bargh and Ollie Roberts made for a convincing start to the season. Bob Brewer was on top form at the back saving several shots on the line and Nigel Williams started his Stroud league carrer with a solid performance at centre back.
