NEW LADIES' 3rd TEAM FOUGHT HARD!

This is the first season for Stroud's 3rd team and the team attacked today's match with enthusiasm, drive and ambition.  During the first half Stroud were the more dominant team with Charlotte Bullock working well in the sweeper role ably supported by two back-from-retirement veterans Di Furlong and GK Helen Summers.  Stroud's attack was penetrating and the team was awarded a number of short corners from which it was unfortunate not to score.  Katie Elder had some great runs up the right hand side of the pitch and there were some great moves from Freya Robb who has the 'bounce it over the opponent's stick' technique down to a fine art.  Debbie Ratcliffe and Harriet Smith worked well together in attack and Elise le Francois was always in the right place at the right time.  As the Lansdown attack surged forward in the second half the mid-field had a particularly hard time containing them in what was a very fast game in Spanish style sunshine.
