Friendly Ladies Enjoy the Sun

Stroud Ladies' 2nd XI hosted an Old Bristolians' side on Saturday in a friendly. The visitors were short of players and, in the spirit of sportsmanship, they were donated a court of Stroudies to even the sides to 10 apiece. The early breakthrough came from Harriet Smith, playing for the opposition. Her far post pick in mid-air was a nice finish, indeed. When Stroud used the space on the pitch to their advantage, they looked dangerous, particularly with the 3 youngsters, Iona Strang, Freya Robb and Teigan Hurlock, the former scoring twice, much to the delight of the supported who were enjoying unusually Spring-like sunshine. OBs showed their potential on many occasions, however, meaning goalkeeper and captain Aleasha Holder was called upon to make several telling saves. Mopsey Voss impressed again with a solid performance. All in all this was an enjoyable and a valuable exercise ahead of next weekend's League game.
