Good Performance Despite the Loss

Stroud Men’s 2nd XI may have lost 3-0 to Cheltenham 3rd XI on Saturday, but they played some nice hockey at times and deserved more from the game.  Defensively, youngsters Hamish Norman, Alex Richards and Ed Golding again proved their worth and the team as a whole kept a pretty good shape throughout.  Stroud did make strong inroads but were unlucky not to score at least one goal against opponents who are vying for promotion.  Stroud have another tough game away to Gwent next week, but their good performance should give them heart.
