Stroud L2 go from Strength to Strength

Stroud Ladies’ 2nd XI had another storming match, this time beating Blockley 4-0 in a hard fought game.  Stroud came out fighting from the whistle and dominated the first half.  The Blockley keeper had an excellent match and saved numerous strikes on goal from Stroud’s forward line, leaving the scoreline goalless as the first half ended.  Allie Breddie, who came to Stroud’s rescue by stepping in to play in goal at the last minute, made an important save at the end of the first half, and was brilliantly supported by the back line.
Stroud held their nerve and battled on, determined to score.  Their 1st goal eventually came from a short corner ; a great team effort, finished with a powerful strike from Claire Crosthwaite.  Once the scoring had started, there was no stopping Stroud.  Jade Rigglesford made it 2-0 with a skilful, reverse stick goal.  Hannah Scott scored the 3rd from open play and Kathy Williams made it 4-0 with a lovely first time strike.
The team is consistently showing excellent passing skills, looking for the right option every time, patiently working the ball right around the pitch with confidence and skill.  Coupled with great communication and fantastic spirit, the team remains unbeaten this season.
