Hannah Scott - A Thorn in the Side for Thornbury

Thornbury was quick of the mark and  scored  within 20 minutes.  Stroud took time to settle as the team needed to adjust to new players joining the squad including a welcome appearance by Jordan Turnbull  in goal.  Thornbury had much of the attack, particularly during the second half when defenders Becky and Katherine Stevens were called into action time and time again.  The Stroud goal was a fair result for the team;  a direct replica of the practises carried out at training earlier in the week, Pauline Edgington passed the ball through the Thornbury players for Hannah Scott to pick up on the move and fire into the Thornbury goal.  There were several other near misses for both teams and it was defenders Jordan Turnbull and Katherine Stevens who were jointly awarded the Stroud team’s ‘player of the match’ award.
