Junior Hockey - General Info

Stroud Hockey Club is enthusiastic about its Junior Section as it represents the future of the club.

The popular Junior section is managed by the Club's qualified coaches under the guidance of Head Coach, Robert Fynn - 07900 693422\email robertjfynn(at)hotmail.com.

No previous experience is required and, where necessary, sticks can be provided. All juniors should come to training with shin pads and a mouth guard (gum shield).

During the season the Junior teams play in U8, U10 and U12 7-a-side tournaments against local clubs at a central venue.  There are regular weekend games for the U14s & Badgers and vixens matches.

A Badgers / Vixens hockey squad compromises a maximum of 3 adult players and up to 13 junior players. These matches provide junior players with a taste of competitive hockey and a safe environment in which to test their skills.

Since starting the junior section in 2001 the club has nurtured numerous JDC & JAC players (County Level), several JRPC (West Level) players, one U21 international and a handful of players now plying their hockey trades at National League Level at larger clubs.

Stroud Hockey Club's juniors act as part of the England Hockey Single System, more information about which is available here
