L2 battle against Evesham

With both teams determined not to be in last place in Severn 1, the battle started very evenly. Evesham scored early, then Stroud came back with quick reactions from Freya Wallace in the D to make the score 1-1. Play continued and just before half time, Evesham scored from a short corner 2-1. The second half saw Stroud gain short corner after short corner, star player Hannah Scott inches from the target. Tracey Morris and Freya Wallace also came close, however it was Evesham who proved the more accurate in the end, winning the game 5-1.

L2 Victory over Badgers!

From the pushback, Stroud quickly found the D, Sarah Mace wrong footing the keeper, slipping the ball to Freya Wallace for an early goal. Badgers reacted, getting past the Stroud defence twice in succession, score 1-2. A great 1-2 between Grace Bedwell and Molly Combe, a pass to left midfielder, Elaine Noone, a pass to centre midfield Victoria Sharpe and a slip to star player Tracey Morris, top D resulted in a clean strike into the bottom left hand corner - score 2-2. 1-2's up the right side by Sophie Payne, Mopsy Voss, M-L French and Vics Edmonds found Mace slipping the ball past Badgers keeper for Wallace to score again.   

The second half saw GK Ella Bullock steadfastly protecting her gaol, keeping the score 3-2, a win at last for Stroud Ladies 2 in Severn 1.

L3: Amazing draw against B&S!

A thrilling match from start to finish. L3’s played with determination putting all their skills together in an evenly matched game. The first half finished 0-1 to Bourton after a lovely strike past stand in keeper and captain Marci Whelan. The defence, Grace Bedwell, Izzy Bonham and Lily Perril, with strong tackles and distributing the ball away from danger, made sure Bourton did not score again. The midfield- Jasmine Goldsmith, Maddi Hazell and Mhairi Spring were relentless linking effortlessly with both attack and defence. Forwards Maria Smart, Becky Swanwick and Sarah Scott applied attack after attack with Star player and scorer Becky Swanwick making the final score 1-1. A great achievement from the entire team!

L1's get the point!

Stroud Ladies played away to Cheltenham determined to leave with points – and they sure did! Stroud went hard from the off. Cheltenham scored first, then Stroud’s tenacity shone through, resulting in a 2-1 lead for Stroud before half time.

Stroud continued to play superb hockey in the 2nd half, the final score was 3-3 thanks to goals from Evie Robb and Sam Norman and that all elusive point giving Stroud a boost after a hard campaign in Severn 1. Star player went to Emma Boyd who was phenomenal in centre midfield.

L2: Kanyana and Ella Star Players!

 Stroud Ladies 2 played the first half with intelligent passing, tight defending and brave goal keeping from star player Ella Bullock and kept the score 0-1 to Leominster for the majority of the first half. Leominster then scored two more just before half time. 

The second half saw Stroud putting more pressure on the Leomister Keeper, with star player midfielder Kanayna Mutalindwa making impressive runs up the left wing into the D. There were shots on goal from Aimee Robb and  Freya Wallace and a great short corner strike from Victoria Edmonds. Leominster scoring four more, final score 7-0

L2 score against Chipping Camden - Tudor saves the Day

Stroud Ladies 2 travelled away to face a strong Chipping Camden side determined to have an impact.

After saving goal after goal, rookie goal keeper and star player Sarah Tudor, proved she was anything but. Supported by her defence, Victoria Sharpe, Holly Fowles, Charlotte Bullock and Mhairi Spring who each saved at least one goal off the line. Ellie Freer and Esme Clarke made great arching runs into the D with the midfield Katie Elder, Becky Swanwick, Kanyana Mutalindwa and Freya Wallace tackling well. With six minutes to go, 10-0 down, Freya Wallace found space on the right wing, reached the D unmarked and scored! Final result 10-1 to CC.
