Ladies 2 hold demoted Lansdowne 2 to a draw

Stroud Ladies 2s V Lansdown Ladies 2s 15th November Home Stroud Ladies 2nd team turned up at Stratford Park Leisure centre,on a warm sunny afternoon to play their home match against Lansdown. Lansdown started very quickly and after their second attack scored a well worked goal. Strouds defence were put under a lot of pressure by the Lansdown forwards, but with some good movement and strong hitouts from Macca, Stroud hit Lansdown on the break ,and with good skills and determination Iona Strang scored her first goal of the season! (Hopefully the first of many ) a hard fought first half finished (1-1). The second half started with the Stroud defence and midfield under pressure with continued attacks by Lansdown. Strouds defence of numerous short corners was first class and indirectly lead to Strouds second goal, as Macca sent a lovely ball to Cerys King on the left, who ran down the pitch into the D beating Lansdown players as she went and lifted the ball over the out stretched goalkeeper and scoring. Lansdown come back at Stroud attacking for the remaining time of the match and eventually scoring their equaliser. Final score (2=2). Georgia Ford was named player of the match for her solid work in midfield.
