L2 Fight Back Well

Stroud's keeper, Aleasha Holder, was kept busy throughout this match against Newent and was called into action time and time again. The Newent attack was relentless, well orchestrated and it took Stroud until the second half to understand how best to deal with it through using the width of the pitch, passing back and retaining possession of the ball. When Stroud played their possession game it was difficult for Newent to break through. Some fine shots on goal by Iona Strang, Elise le Francois, Victoria Sharpe and Pauline Edgington were all well handled by the Newent keeper and it was a short corner from one of these shots that enabled Candice Johnson to score Stroud's goal in the final minutes of the match.
