The score did not reflect the effort, determination and commitment of the Stroud team who had control of the match throughout most of the 70 minutes.  Stroud went into the lead with a great goal from Carrie Sanders which was nicely placed just inside the post.  The team had a number of chances to score with balls going wide or being just beyond the reach of the forwards and despite some fine runs by many players and visible determination by player of the match Jade Rigglesford, the strong Civil Service keeper prevented Stroud from scoring that important second goal.  The Civil Service goals came from a short corner and from open play, the later in the closing minutes of the match.  The Stroud team needs to hone its passing, stopping and tackling skills so that it is just that little bit sharper than its opponents in the coming games.
