A mix up with umpires led to a delay, a curtailed match, a goal less draw and a single league point.  Stroud had been optimistic about winning this match against Colwall but the travelling and long delay before the match started had depleted the team's energy levels.  As Stroud re-energised so it took command of the match and played some excellent, fast, flowing hockey.  The passing this week was particularly good with balls moved around in straight, square and backwards formations and retaining possession of the ball undoubtedly led to the team's command on the match.  Player of the match Candice Johnson in left mid-field for the first time made some important tackles and some good passes through to Sandra Glass and Andrea Preston.  Stroud's 3 short corners were not converted with Pauline Edgington hitting the post for a fourth time (3 times whilst warming up) and the team was denied what-would have-been a well deserved goal.  The Stroud defence was delighted to keep a clean sheet for a second week.
