Hockey Horror Show Charity Match

Stroud Hockey Club changed shape for a Sunday lunchtime Charity Match in aid of the Cotswold Care Hospice. Opting to dress up in Rocky Horror Show garb, they donated over ?100 to the local charity, scaring the local squirrels at Stratford Park in the process. It was not all blood and gore, however, with costumes including daring basques, capes and leopard-print one-pieces ! The costumes did not appear to reduce the skill level, and Stroud Hockey Club are seriously considering a change of strip for the League season, particularly given the shock effect such attire would provide. Not only did the participants provide good entertainment, the weather held out, too. With Stratford Park providing the pitch for free and the British Oak feeding the weary players afterwards, a thoroughly enjoyable lunchtime was had by all.
